Today our class worked on measuring the perimeter of our desks. These are some of the comments shared by students.
"It was very fun measuring my desk and also it was fun that I got to add all the sides together to find the perimeter." M.P.
"My desk has a perimeter of 200 centimeters." B.K.B
"The perimeter of my desk was 216 centimeters." B.S.
"When we were measuring I learned that the distance around my desk was 210 centimeters." J.R.S.

Our Trip to YPT!
"The play was very good and the trip was awesome!" E.S.R.

Great Big Crunch!
On March 12th your child will be participating in "The Great Big Crunch". This will include a full day of fun activities and workshops where students will learn about the environment, plants, and healthy living. A healthy lunch will be provided. Media release forms will be sent out tomorrow, kindly ensure your child returns the form before or on Thursday. Thank you :)

Last week our class began exploring structures. We discussed the differences between human made (buildings, chairs, tables, etc.) and nature made structures (nests, bee hives, etc). We talked about what makes a structures strong and stable. Students worked in teams to try to build a strong and stable structure made out of pattern blocks and other classroom manipulatives.

Great Work Room 15!
I wanted to congratulate all the students in our classroom on doing such an amazing job on our character education presentation on fairness. They worked well as a team and we really got the opportunity to bring all their amazing ideas to life in our video! Great work!

- Develop an understanding of the need for standard units and measure lengths using the centimeter and the meter.
- Estimate, measure, and compare perimeter (distance around) using non-standard and standard units.
- Investigate area measurement by using non-standard units, such as cards, to cover a surface.
- Solve everyday problems about measurement.
