Last week our class began exploring structures. We discussed the differences between human made (buildings, chairs, tables, etc.) and nature made structures (nests, bee hives, etc). We talked about what makes a structures strong and stable. Students worked in teams to try to build a strong and stable structure made out of pattern blocks and other classroom manipulatives.
